A vaddisznó (Sus scrofa) szaporulatának alakulása egy szabadterületi populációban

Kutatásunk során vaddisznók (Sus scrofa) esetében becsültük a születési arányszámot az egyéni vagy társas vadászatokon elejtett kocák méhében fellelhető magzatok száma alapján. A vemhesség korai szakaszában a petefészekben megszámlálható sárgatest száma alapján becsültük a magzatszámot, a sárgatest számát megszorozva a magzat/sárgatest aránnyal. A születési arányt korcsoportonként külön-külön vizsgáltuk. Az életkort a fogkopások alapján becsültük. A szaporulat túlélését közvetlen megfigyelésekkel becsültük, megfigyelve a kondákat és megszámlálva a malac/koca arányt. A módszer csak a nyári túlélés megbecslésére alkalmas, mivel a 8–9. hónapban a kondák már kezdenek fölbomlani. A megbecsült átlagos születési arány 6,7-nek adódott (N=51). Pozitív lineáris kapcsolatot találtunk a születési arányszám és a koca kora között, a születési arányszám és a koca testtömege között, illetve a születési arányszám és a koca testhossza között. A vemhesség késői szakaszában a magzat/sárgatest arány 0,83±0,15-nek bizonyult. A kocák malacfelnevelési sikeressége alacsony volt, a malacok több mint a fele pusztult el szeptember végéig. A legmagasabb halálozási arány a malacok néhány hetes korában következett be.
