Antropogén fészkelőhelyeken költő kuvik Athene noctua (Scopoli, 1769) konzervációbiológiai lehetőségei a Felső-Kiskunságban

A fokozottan védett kuvik (Athene noctua) eredendően természetes faodúban, odvas fák törzsében és ágaiban költő madárfaj, amely a zárt erdőterületeket kerüli. Természetes fészkelőhelyei ma már csak elenyésző számban érhetőek el, így a faj számára az antropogén költőhelyek biztosítják a fészkelési lehetőséget, ahol a fészkelésre alkalmas épületek környezetének veszélyeztető tényezői számottevőek. Nagy mértékű a nyest-jelenléte (Martes foina), a szigeteletlen középfeszültségű oszlopok és a rágcsálóirtószer-használat. A kutatási időszakban (2003-2015) közel 400 mesterséges kuvikodú telepítése történt meg a mintaterületen, melyekben összesen 467 pullus és adult egyed gyűrűzése történt. Az elmúlt években emelkedő odú-elfoglaltsági arány populáció-dinamikai emelkedést feltételez. 2015-ben az odúelfoglaltság már elérte a 25,4%-ot. Jelen tanulmány - a rövid távú konzervációbiológiai megoldást jelentő - mesterséges kuvikodú-telepítések eredményeinek bemutatása mellett a nemzetközi gyakorlat alapján ajánlásokat fogalmaz meg a faj számára hosszútávon megteremthető természetes költési lehetőségek biztosítására.
